Everything people ask us

How much is my car worth?

The only honest answer is that it depends on your specific vehicle, and the fastest way to find out is our online offer tool, which takes about 2 minutes and is free. Value comes down to year, make, model, trim, mileage, condition, history and what that exact vehicle is currently bringing at wholesale auction in this region. Anyone quoting you a number without those details is guessing.

Do I have to buy a car from you to sell you mine?

No. We buy vehicles outright with no purchase required. You can sell us your car, take the check and leave. We need used inventory, and buying it directly from the public is cheaper for us than the auction — that is the entire reason this program exists.

Can I sell a car that I still owe money on?

Yes, and it is one of the most common transactions we do. We pay your lender directly to release the lien, and if there is equity left over it goes to you. If you owe more than the car is worth, you can pay the difference or in some cases roll it into a replacement vehicle — either way we will tell you the exact number before you commit to anything.

How fast do I get paid?

Same day, in almost every case. Once we verify the car matches what you described and the paperwork is signed, you leave with a check. If there is a lien on the vehicle, the payoff to your lender happens on our end and does not delay your payment.

Do you buy cars with high mileage or older model years?

Yes. There is no mileage limit and no model-year cutoff. High-mileage vehicles are a normal part of our inventory, and we would rather make you a modest honest offer than tell you your car is worthless.

Do you buy salvage, rebuilt or wrecked vehicles?

Yes, though the offer will reflect the title status and damage. Tell us up front — a branded title discovered during verification changes the number, and we would much rather price it correctly from the start than surprise you when you arrive.

Do I have to bring the car to you?

No. We will come to you anywhere in the greater Nashville metro, including Nashville, Hermitage, Lebanon, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Smyrna, Murfreesboro and Donelson. Mobile appraisal and pickup are free. You are also welcome to bring it to us in Mt. Juliet if that is easier.

What do I need to bring to sell my car?

Bring the title if you have it, a valid photo ID matching the title, all keys and remotes, and your current registration. If there is a loan, bring your lender name and account number — or just the most recent statement. If the title is being held by your lender, that is fine and normal; we handle it.

What if the title is not in my name, or I cannot find it?

Call us before you do anything else at (615) 288-8531. Lost titles, titles still held by a lender, inherited vehicles and cars titled to a business are all solvable, but each takes a different form and a different amount of time. Handling it correctly up front is much faster than discovering the problem at the counter.

How long is my offer good for?

Offers are typically valid for 7 days or 250 additional miles, whichever comes first. Beyond that the market moves and we would need to take another look. The offer assumes the vehicle is as described — significant undisclosed damage will change it.

Does getting an offer affect my credit?

No. Getting an offer involves no credit check of any kind, and there is no hard or soft inquiry on your report. It is a valuation of your vehicle, not an application for anything.

Do you only buy Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles?

No — we buy every brand. We happen to sell Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, but the vehicles we buy from the public go into our used inventory or to wholesale, and that has nothing to do with the franchise on the building. Hondas, Toyotas, Fords, Teslas and everything else are all welcome.

Is this actually a dealership?

Yes. Sell to Mt. Juliet is the direct-from-the-public buying division of Mt. Juliet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, a licensed Tennessee franchise dealer. You are not dealing with a lead broker, an out-of-state buying service or a middleman — the people who make the offer are the people who write the check.

Should I sell to you or trade it in?

If you are buying another vehicle anyway, a trade-in is often the better financial move, because Tennessee applies your trade value against the taxable price of the replacement car. If you are not buying anything, selling outright puts cash in your hand with no strings. We will run both numbers for you honestly.
